Adding new events
There are many ways to enter new events to your scheduleUs calendars.
Here are a few:
  1. Click on the "Add Event" button on the tool bar. This will open the Maintain Event window. After entering the event, select OK. If you have more events to enter, select the New button (or ALT-N) which will save the first event and open a new window for entering the next.
  2. In the Daily or Weekly view, double click on the date and time on which you plan to enter the event. This will open the Maintain Event window.
  3. Importing from text files is very useful if you have your information setup in another program. Simply export the data to a tab delimited (txt) or comma separated value (csv) document from the program used to create the file. Then import the file into scheduleUs Publisher and either create a new calendar or add this data to an existing calendar.
  4. Although you can add events through the Event List, we recommend using this view for modifying existing events and not creating new events.

TIP: When adding events, be sure to add the event to the appropriate calendar. If an event is mistakenly added to the incorrect calendar, you will have to delete and then re-add the event to the proper calendar.

Creating calendars and using categories
When setting up calendars in scheduleUs Publisher, organize your data so that your audience can best find specific information. Create separate calendars for like events and categories for subgroups.
Here are some tips:
  1. Sports calendars such as basketball, football, field hockey, swim team, etc. can be created using separate calendars for each sport and then using categories to specify the level (i.e.: Freshman, Junior, Senior, Girls, Boys, etc.). Now families using scheduleUs Family can download only the events that they care about by selecting the category they need.
  2. School activities that are relevant to a large portion of students (days off, finals, pep rallies, early dismissals, etc.) may be in a single calendar and given more detail by the use of categories (i.e.: all school, specific grade levels, etc)
Removing calendars from your website
You can remove published calendars from your website temporarily (for updating or re-designing) or permanently. You can also customize the message users see when they attempt to download your calendar while it is offline (i.e.- Updating calendar, check back in 15 minutes or Changing format, check back soon).
Here's how:
  1. Select Publish from the tool bar.
  2. On the third page of the Publishing Wizard you will see the "Withdrawal from site" option. When this is selected for a specific calendar, you will see a "Withdraw Reason" window. Here is where you can enter a note or reason the calendar will not be available.

To remove a calendar permanently:

  1. Select Publish from the tool bar.
  2. On the third page of the Publishing Wizard you will see the "Delete from Site" option. Selecting this option will remove the calendar from your site. The file will remain on your system until you delete it from the Maintain Calendars window and delete it from the file system.
